Netflix Debuts New Trailer for Will Ferrell and Rachel McAdams Comedy ‘Eurovision’

Early this morning, Netflix released a full trailer for their new comedy movie Eurovision Song Contest: The  Story of Fire Saga. Headlined by prolific comedic actors Will Ferrell and Rachel McAdams, the film tells the story of two aspiring musicians from Iceland who are, albeit begrudgingly, selected by their home country to represent them in the international Eurovision Song Contest.

Eurovision Song Contest was written by Ferrell alongside Andrew Steele (Casa de mi Padre), with Wedding Crashers director David Dobkin directing the project. This is Dobkin’s first movie since 2014’s Robert Downey Jr. lead-drama The Judge. The all star cast is rounded out by Dan Stephens, Pierce Brosnan, and Demi Lovato. It was supposed to release alongside this year’s Eurovision Song Contest, a real life annual international song competition  televised around the world, but this year’s competition was unfortunately cancelled due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

The film certainly demonstrates promise with its talent alone, and both Netflix and Ferrell hope the quality will be much better than his previous movie, Holmes and Watson. Eurovision Song Contest will premier on Netflix June 26th.
