More ‘Toy Story’ Jabs In New ‘Child’s Play’ Poster

The new remake of Child’s Play has been making decent amount of jabs at it’s opening weekend competition, Toy Story 4. It is fitting that when two toy themed movies are released the same weekend, the one that is an R-rated Horror film has a dark sense of humor towards the more family friendly competition. Weeks ago, Child’s Play had a new poster of Chucky walking away from what looks like a destroyed cowboy doll. That doll was obviously meant to represent Woody from Toy Story, but apparently Woody isn’t the only getting attacked by Chucky.

In a brand new poster for the horror remake, we see the arm of Chucky holding what looks like to be the end of Slinky Dog toy, which is obviously meant to represent Slinky from the Pixar movies. The toy is cut in half and Chucky is holding it over a fire place and cooking it like a hot dog. Considering the movie is still a month away, there is a likely chance that Slinky and Woody won’t be the only victims of Chucky’s dark sense of humor.

Child’s Play is set to release May 21st 2019.

Ryan Pineda: When it comes to film, animation, video games and other mediums, I can discuss for hours about how much on why certain films and animated media made me the person I am today. I adore the artistic merit that comes from a lot of pop-culture media and will definitely love to have a conversation about favorite movies any day! I have graduated in 2017 with a BA in Film and Television at the University of Arizona. Been passionate about writing about films due to always having an interesting outlook on the medium. Will always see a film and will definitely be sure to recommend it to someone that I know for a fact would love that movie. Not only that but will also give reasons for why I think that film did or did not work as a movie, and the same can go for other pieces of media like television, video games and especially animated projects.
