It turns out, after over 2 decades, there may finally be fourth Austin Powers movie in the works. Mike Myers was asked by a fan at Trevor Noah’s World Cup watch party whether or not there would be an Austin Powers 4. In response, Myers simply responded “Yes.”
Myers did not expand any further on this, but it has long been documented that the actor wanted to do a fourth film. In the past, Jay Roach, director of the series, noted that he was open to the idea of another sequel. He said, “I wouldn’t say ‘never’ never, but it does depend on Mike having something that he’s inspired about and after all these years it hasn’t quite clicked yet. But I’m always game for anything he wants to do. He’s a genius and he helped me get started and it was a blast.” Myers previously stated he was interested in a film focused on Dr. Evil.
This is hardly a confirmation of an Austin Powers 4, as sometimes actors or industry figures will poke the bear just to gauge interest in a project before fully committing to it. Still, this is exciting news for Austin Powers fans. Stay tuned for more updates.
