Marvel’s ‘Thunderbolts’ Is Paused Because Of Writers Strike

The writer’s strike was said to affect many areas of the entertainment industry to demonstrate the necessity of writers. Marvel’s upcoming film, Thunderbolts, is no exception. As a result, the film has been put on pause until the writer’s strike ends. Initially, production was supposed to take place in Atlanta in three weeks.

The movie is set to release on July 26th, 2024. However, this date may also be pushed. Thunderbolts has an impressive cast list, inlcuding Florence Pugh, David Harbour, Julia Louis-Dreyfus, Olga Kurylenko, Wyatt Russel, Hannah John-Kamen, and Sebastian Stan. There are also undisclosed roles for two newcomers to the saga, Ayo Edebiri and Steven Yeun. Jake Schrier will be directing Thunderbolts after a 9-year feature film hiatus.

The writer for Thunderbolts is Lee Sung Jin, the creator of Beef. Sung Jin will create the script from the original draft of Black Widow, written by Eric Pearson. However, Marvel has a reputation for rewriting and editing the script during production; this will make writing much more difficult during the writer’s strike.

Thunderbolts is said to be the end of the Multiverse Saga for Marvel’s Phase Five. In the comics, Thunderbolts has a complex history. The roster recieves many edits and motivations vary; it is a team of past villains and anti-heroes from previous films working together. The film’s adaptation is rumored to go many ways.
