Marc Maron Will Join Joaquin Pheonix in Upcoming Joker Origin Film

GLOW, Netflix

Marc Maron, best known for his recent work in the Netflix series GLOW, will officially join the cast of the upcoming Joker film alongside Joanquin Pheonix. Other cast members of the DC-centered film include Robert De Niro, Zazie Beetz, and Frances Conroy.

Todd Phillips (The Hangover) will direct the origin story, and he co-write the script with Scott Silver.

Although not much is known about the plot line, we do know that the film will take place in 1980’s Gotham City. The film will also stay at a lower production budget and will be significantly darker than other films within the DC Universe.

Other than GLOW, Maron can be recognized from the “dramedy” series Easy and his 2017 comedy special Marc Maron: Too Real. He also is the host of the podcast WTF With Marc Maron.
