Legendary Pictures And Capcom’s Live-Action Video Game Adaptation ‘Street Fighter’ Receives October 2026 Release Date With Full Cast Announced

Legendary Pictures and Capcom’s live-action adaptation of the classic 1980s and ’90s video game series Street Fighter has received a release date, per an official press release. The first film in a three-year global distribution deal between Legendary and Paramount Pictures, Street Fighter is set to debut in theaters on October 16. 2026.

Josh Greenstein, Co-Chair of Paramount Pictures and Vice Chair of Platforms, and Dana Goldberg, Co-Chair of Paramount Pictures and Chair of Paramount Television, spoke about the adaptation’s role in the deal, saying:

“Legendary has built a reputation for ambitious, globally appealing films, and we’re excited to be partnering with them. Street Fighter is the perfect start to our collaboration, which we believe will be strong and lasting.”

Directed by Kitao Sakurai, the film will take place in 1993 and follow estranged Street Fighters Ryu and Ken Masters as they are pulled back into the ring when the mysterious Chun-Li recruits them for the next World Warrior Tournament, a brutal and bloody battle royale. But the competition hides a deadly conspiracy that will force the pair to face each other and their past. And if they refuse, it’s “Game Over”.

Starring Noah Centineo as Ken Masters, Andrew Koji as Ryu, Callina Liang as Chun-Li, Joe “Roman Reigns” Anoa’i as Akuma, David Dastmalchian as M. Bison, Cody Rhodes as Guile, Andrew Schulz as Dan Hibiki, Eric André as Don Sauvage, Vidyut Jammwal as Dhalsim, Curtis “50 Cent” Jackson as Balrog, Jason Momoa as Blanka, Orville Peck as Vega, Olivier Richters as Zangief, Hirooki Goto as E. Honda, Rayna Vallandingham as Juli, Alexander Volkanovski as Joe, Kyle Mooney as Marvin, and Mel Jarnson as Cammy, the adaptation of Street Fighter is now in production and being filmed for IMAX.
