“For what is a man? What has he got?”
20th Century Fox has finally released the first trailer for their upcoming sequel, Kingsman: The Golden Circle.
From writer/director Matthew Vaughn (Kick-Ass, X-Men: First Class), Kingsman: The Golden Circle is the sequel to 2015’s surprise hit, Kingsman: The Secret Service, which was based on the graphic novel of the same name by Mark Millar and Dave Gibbons.
With Frank Sinatra’s rendition of “My Way” as the musical backdrop, the trailer conveys a lot the same level of sophisticated bad-assery and classy retro tone that the original film was celebrated for.
The film’s synopsis provided by Fox reads: “Kingsman: The Secret Service introduced the world to Kingsman – an independent, international intelligence agency operating at the highest level of discretion, whose ultimate goal is to keep the world safe. In Kingsman: The Golden Circle, our heroes face a new challenge. When their headquarters are destroyed and the world is held hostage, their journey leads them to the discovery of an allied spy organization in the US called Statesman, dating back to the day they were both founded. In a new adventure that tests their agents’ strength and wits to the limit, these two elite secret organizations band together to defeat a ruthless common enemy, in order to save the world, something that’s becoming a bit of a habit for Eggsy…”
Set to star in the film are the original’s Taron Egerton, Mark Strong, Colin Firth, along with newcomers Channing Tatum, Halle Berry, Jeff Bridges, Julianne Moore, and Sir Elton John.
Kingsman: The Golden Circle will bust its way into theaters on September 22nd.
