Peter Five Eight will mark Kevin Spacey’s first leading role since the implosion of his career back in 2017 due to dozens of allegations of sexual misconduct. Invincible Entertainment is currently set to have a limited release of the film in theaters before sending it to roll out on home entertainment and video-on-demand according to The Hollywood Reporter. The roll out comes in the aftermath of Spacey having been ruled not guilty during a sexual assault trial in a UK Court back in July 2023.
Along with the release of Peter Five Eight, Spacey is also attempting to make his reentry into the public eye through a few other avenues, such as booking his first appearance at the upcoming North Carolina comic book convention, Mad Monster. In addition, Spacey has also done a reprisal of his role as Frank Underwood from the hit Netflix series House of Cards (of which the actor was fired from his starring role amidst the aforementioned allegations of sexual assault) in a set of holiday videos–including one from last month which featured the controversial Fox News host Tucker Carlson.
In the new movie, Spacey plays an assassin that will do whatever it takes to get the job done. Spacey’s character is called on a job to a small secluded town to track down a mysterious real estate agent, who is played by Jet Jandreau.
The feature is directed by Michael Zaiko Hall, who is known for Hotel Dunsmuir (2022), The Good Dinosaur (2015), and Pacific Rim (2013). Spacey is joined in the cast by Rebecca de Mornay, Jake Weber, and Jet Jandreau.
