Kelly Marie Tran to Produce Activist Biopic

Kelly Marie Tran actor from Star Wars, Raya and the Last Dragon is currently developing a biopic about Civil Rights activist Amanda Nguyen, with the help of Significant Productions and Madica Production. Nguyen is actually one of Tran’s close friends and she plans to portray her in the film.

The movie is still in early development so we don’t know about the specifics of the film at this time. Both Nguyen and Tran speak very highly of each other and are working closely to produce the film.

The story will touch on her experience of sexual assault in college, the journey that follows as a survivor, and how it eventually led to her becoming a well-known and influential activist. Nguyen has already accomplished so much progress with her activism so far.

Her work “Sexual Assault Survivor Bill of Rights” inspired the federal law that was passed in 2016 that promotes equal rights and advocacy for other survivors. She has also recently been active with the United Nations. When speaking about the upcoming project, Nguyen talks about how grateful she is for Tran helping to tell her story and her hopes for survivors around the world to feel like their voices are heard and that they are not alone.
