After turning in a solid performance in the horror flick Oculus, Karen Gillan (Doctor Who, Guardians of the Galaxy) will be heading west for the revenge film In A Valley Of Violence. She joins co-stars Ethan Hawke, John Travolta and Taissa Farmiga for the 1890’s Western.
Gillan and Farmiga will play sisters who run a hotel in a small town that is in for some big trouble when Hawke’s character shows up to avenge the murder of his best friend. Based on the title, it’s a safe bet that there will be gunfights aplenty in this quest for vengeance.
The film will be directed by Ti West, who is known mostly for his above-average horror films (The Innkeepers, The Sacrament), but should have no problem making the transition to the Western genre.
Gillan can be seen next in the highly-anticipated Guardians of the Galaxy, which hits theaters August 1.
