Johnny Depp’s Latest Film ‘City of Lies’ Aired on TV Last Weekend

The past few years have been very troublesome for Johnny Depp. The A-List Hollywood actor has been struggling to gain a hit film for years, other than the Pirates of the Caribbean franchise, but now he can’t even get a film released, let alone have it be successful.

The STARZ tv channel has decided to roll the dice and air his latest film  titled City of Lies, which also stars Forest Whitaker. It was filmed in 2018 and was quickly forgotten until it got a VOD release earlier this year.

The film follows a detective and a journalist that work together to try to solve one of the most famous unsolved deaths: legendary rap artist The Notorious B.I.G., also known as Biggie Smalls.

“Based on the book by Randall Sullivan, this crime drama also delves deep into the murder of Tupac Shakur [2Pac], the suspicious circumstances surrounding both deaths, and the much-speculated gang or LAPD involvement in the cases,” as described by popculture.

This delay was one of several career setbacks for Depp, who was previously dropped from the Fantastic Beasts franchise, and his latest film Minamata being allegedly buried by its studio. We’ll see if the tide turns in who was once Hollywood’s biggest actor’s favor, as his legal battles with Heard continue.
