Joe Carnahan, director of The Grey, has parted ways with the upcoming third Bad Boys installment titled, Bad Boys for Life. Carnahan, who wrote and was also set to direct the film, is reportedly departing the project due to scheduling conflicts. However, other inside sources claim that “creative differences” are to blame. The Hollywood Reporter was the first to report the news.
The film has undergone years of development, along with several shifts in its release date. Given that information alone, it wouldn’t be much of a shock to find that Carnahan’s reasons for leaving were, in fact, due to filming schedule.
Martin Lawrence (Black Knight) is set to reprise his roll as Detective Marcus Burnett. It took quite some time for Will Smith (Collateral Beauty) to commit to starring in the film, so one has to wonder if these setbacks continue: Will he end up pulling out as well? The films most recent release date was scheduled for November 8, 2018, but we’re sure that will change in the wake of Carnahan’s departure
The studio is currently searching for a replacement to direct, and the possibility of a new writer is also being discussed.
