Jennifer Lawrence Reflects On Her Career Post ‘Hunger Games’

Although Jennifer Lawrence has been recognized for prestige pictures, she now looks back to the movie that started it all, The Hunger Games adapted from the book written by Suzanne Collins. In the 2012 film, Lawrence starred opposite Josh Hutcherson and Liam Hemsworth to bring to life the scientific dystopian novel.

In the movie, Lawrence plays the character of Katniss Everdeen, who is a young girl forced to fight against other people in an arena to survive. Lawrence’s character represents rebellion and hope.

Recently, Lawrence is reflecting on her life post acting in The Hunger Games trilogy. Lawrence explains that these movies brought her recognition to major directors. Acting in the film, allowed her to take on more competitive roles and fame, that she never imagined would happen. In an interview with the Hollywood Reporter, Lawrence states that “The only thing that gave me pause was just how famous it would make me,” she says of The Hunger Games films before revealing how she blew off steam after big press events.”

After her major film Hunger Games, Academy Award winner Jennifer Lawrence has moved to Oscar nominated films like Silver Linings Playbook, Winter’s Bone, and American Hustle.

The Hollywood Reporter states that “while Lawrence has regrets about some of those big-budget movies, she doesn’t regret doing The Hunger Games and looks back positively on her time with the franchise, calling those movies “fantastic.” Still, the pressure and fame around them were sources of stress — the actress at one point compared her experience doing press to Britney Spears in the “Lucky” music video. As a result, she ended up bonding more with her co-stars Josh Hutcherson and Liam Hemsworth.”

The film The Hunger Games: The Ballad of Songbirds and Snakes, a prequel to The Hunger Games trilogy is currently in production and set to be release in 2023. Rachel Zegler, Hunter Schafer, Viola Davis, and Peter Dinklage are set to star in the film.
