So little is known about Jurassic World, the eagerly awaited fourth film in the Jurassic Park franchise, but a rumor is beginning to percolate throughout the internet that actor Jason Schwartzman may be in consideration for a part in the upcoming film.
Colin Trevorrow, who made a minor wave with the 2012 indie comedy Safety Not Guaranteed, is set to helm the return to land of terrorizing dinosaurs whose origins date to Michael Crichton’s original bestselling novel Jurassic Park, which subsequently turned into the Steven Spielberg film that for a short period held the record as the highest grossing film of all time. Three films and twenty years later, the fourth installment in underway at Universal Pictures, with Bryce Dallas Howard (The Help) set to co-star with the previously rumored Josh Brolin (Labor Day) and Idris Elba (Mandela: Long Walk to Freedom.) Trevorrow and his Safety Not Guaranteed screenwriter Derek Connolly (who won the screenplay prize at Sundance for that film) will pen the script, working from a prior drafts by Rick Jaffa and Amanda Silver (Rise of the Planet of the Apes.)
If Schwartzman is indeed in contention for a part in Jurassic World, it would surely be the highest profile film to date for the actor/musician/Coppola family member whose claim to fame is as a part of the Wes Anderson troupe, appearing in four of the filmmaker’s movies, including his breakout Rushmore, and soon to be seen in The Grand Budapest Hotel. Schwartzman will next appear in the awards hopeful Saving Mr. Banks, about the making of Mary Poppins, playing composer Richard Sherman.
