Jason Bateman’s ‘Project Artemis’ to Star Scarlett Johansson and Chris Evans

Scarlett Johansson and Chris Evans are set to co-star in Jason Bateman’s upcoming film Project Artemis. The film is part of a movie package, with Apple spending over $100 million for the rights. Although much of the plot is kept private for now, both Evans and Johansson have publicly noted their excitement to be joining forces following their successes with Marvel. Bateman joins the film as director and co-star.

Following their first Oscar win, Apple has a slew of films slated for release. Johansson was originally set to star alongside Evans in Apple’s Ghosted but had to decline due to scheduling conflicts.

Deadline reports “the project is set against the space race,” but no other information has been confirmed regarding the plot. Project Artemis was written by Rose Gilroy, with Johansson, Jonathan Lia, and Keenan Flynn set as producers via These Pictures production company.

This is not the first time Apple has spent millions of dollars securing the rights to films. The cost for Matthew Vaughn’s film Argyle and a Formula One movie starring Brad Pitt cost over $200 million. Yet, Project Artemis is sure to be a highly anticipated film due to Apple’s recent successes and the various household names joining the production. There is no information regarding the beginning of filming or a release date.
