Jared Leto to Potentially Star in Disney’s ‘Tron 3’

Per CinemaBlend, Jared Leto is once again rumored to be in talks to star in third Tron movie. According to reports, he has already been speaking with Disney about his involvement in the franchise’s next step. The latest Tron film was 2010’s Tron: Legacy, which was critical and box office hit that starred Garrett Hedlund. Tron: Legacy was a sequel itself to the legendary 1982 Tron with Jeff Bridges.

Not much else is known about the film and it has not yet been given the okay by Disney to start production, but would certainly generate a lot of hype if so. Tron Ascension was an early draft of the sequel, but it is also unknown if they will be going ahead with it.

Leto has been linked to this role since Variety announced similar rumors in 2017. Since then, he has starred in Blade Runner 2049 and The Outsider. He will also star in the Marvel Cinematic Universe’s upcoming Morbius, which will be released in 2021.

There were rumors earlier this year that John Ridley (12 Years Slave) would write a Disney+ TV series about Tron. These were put to bed though, as it was apparently scrapped before production. Maybe a third Tron movie starring Jared Leto is why.
