Jared Leto has responded to the sexual assault allegations brought against him from several women, calling them, “categorically false.” The allegations were made during a BBC documentary released on Wednesday titled Jared Leto: Hollywood’s Darkest Secret.
The documentary featured ten total women who accused the singer-actor of sexual assault, with four of the women allegeding that the incidents happened when they were minors. Variety described some of the allegations made in the doc, writing,
One of the women accuses the Oscar winner of assaulting her in a motel bathroom when she was 17. Another claims Leto threatened her with sexual assault when she was 19. A third describes how she allegedly had sex with Leto in California when she was 17, under the age of consent, which therefore would be classified as statutory rape. A fourth women alleges Leto made repeated sexually explicit phone calls to her when she was 16 and, on at least one occasion, suggested that they should have sex.
Leto responded to the allegations via a statement made by his reps, stating,
I have never sexually assaulted anyone in my entire life. These claims are absolutely and categorically false.
The BBC has confirmed “a number of the women’s accounts with friends and family who were told about the encounters with Leto at the time,” and for some specific claims there was photo and textual evidence that supported them. This isn’t the first time that Leto has faced sexual abuse claims. In 2025, DJ Allie Teilz accused the actor of sexual assault when she was seventeen. This prompted other women to come forward in an Air Mail article that was published in June. Leto denied those allegations as well.
Leto has not made any other follow up statements to the allegations.
