Jack Black Wants Pedro Pascal To Be Cast As Wario For a ‘The Super Mario Bros. Movie’ Sequel

Actor Jack Black has shared his thoughts about a possible sequel to the new The Super Mario Bros. Movie. Black performed the voice of Bowser in the animated film and shared he thinks that The Last of Us actor Pedro Pascal would be a great fit to voice Wario as a sequel’s villain.

Black shared these thoughts because he does not know whether his character would return to a sequel; Black stated:

“It’s not a given that Bowser will return. You know, I did a few Kung Fu Panda movies, and it was a different villain every movie. They may do the same thing…You know, what if there is a more powerful, more evil villain? Then I may need to be turned to help Mario and the rest to defend our universe against some other unseen force of evil. Are you thinking what I’m thinking? Wario. Pedro Pascal is Wario.”

Black recently made a Cameo at The Mandalorian, a show that Pascal stars for Disney+. Also, During Pascal’s recent Saturday Night Live episode, the actor performed in a parody trailer for a crossover film of Mario Kart and The Last of Us, performing as Mario, which may have given the idea to Black.

The Super Mario Bros. Movie has been a big success at the box office on its opening weekend. It grossed a total of $204.6 million in its first five days. Globally, it collected $377.5 Million in its debut. The film is produced under Nintendo, Universal, and Illumination.
