Paramount has finally found their Dora for the upcoming live action reboot of the animated Nickelodeon Series, Dora the Explorer, according to Variety. Isabela Moner (Transformers: The Last Knight) has signed on to portray the popular character as she goes on “an adventure” complete with her best friend Boots the monkey and cousin, Diego.
Moner told Variety, she couldn’t be more “thrilled to represent such an iconic character” as she also grew up watching the Nickelodeon series. She says she is “excited to put on the backpack and go on an adventure.”
The film is being directed by Nick Stoller (The Muppets), who also penned the screenplay. Dora The Explorer is set to be filmed exclusively in Queensland, Australia, with an August 2, 2019 release date.
