‘Indiana Jones 5’ Actor Harrison Ford Injures Shoulder During Fight Scene; Production Schedule Shifts Around Recovery

According to Deadline, sources have revealed that Harrison Ford suffered an accident while rehearsing fight scene for Indiana Jones 5. While the extent of his injury was not immediately known, it was said to involve his shoulder. Director James Mangold is continuing to shoot around Ford’s injury while he receives the necessary treatment. The filming schedule will change as needed in the coming weeks as well. Disney has set the action thriller for a release date on July 29, 2022.

Production for Indiana Jones 5 began earlier this month in Pinewood and other U.K. locations. Ford stars alongside Mads Mikkelsen, Phoebe Waller-Bridge, Boyd Holbrook, Shaunette Renée Wilson and Thomas Kretschmann. James Mangold, director of Logan, is taking over the reins from Steven Spielberg, who is still serving as a producer. John Williams is also returning as the composer, who has also worked on every score in the 40-year-old franchise.

Ford suffered a serious injury in June 2014 when reprising the role of Han Solo in Star Wars: The Force Awakens. His leg was broken by a hydraulic door in an accident on the set of the Millennium Falcon spaceship at London’s Pinewood Studios. While the actor has gone through some tough ordeals, he is still in remarkable shape at age 78. Let’s hope his recovery goes smoothly again this time.
