‘In the Forest’ and ‘Little Sorcerer’ Rights Acquired by Vertical Entertainment

According to Deadline, Vertical Entertainment has acquired the rights to In the Forest, a horror-thriller from Hector Barron and the animated film Little Sorcerer from Alice Blehart. In the Forest is set for a day-and-date theatrical release on January 28 with Little Sorcerer set for a May 6 release.

In the Forest stars Debbon Ayer as Helen, Cristina Spruell as Helen’s daughter Emily, and Lyman Ward as Helen’s father, Stan. The trio portrays a family on a camping trip who arrive only to be kicked out by an angry landowner Howard, played by Don Baldaramos. Before they are able to leave, Helen makes a haunting discovery and fights for her family’s survival. Brian McLaughlin produced the film with Hector Barron, Glenn Kendrick Ackermann, Peter Frunctman, Julie Kroll, Jason Piette, Ewan Dunbar and Andrew Stoddard as executive producers.

Little Sorcerer from Gold Valley Films is a Cinderella tale that finds Prince Alex trapped in a mouse’s body and follows Ella and her friends journeying to find the magic to bring him back. The film is produced by Adam Chiu and written by Roger Chen.

Mark your calendars for In the Forest and Little Sorcerer, premiering in theaters on January 28 and May 6 respectively.
