‘Hillbilly Elegy’ Star Haley Bennett Joins Eli Roth’s ‘Borderlands’ Movie

Hillbilly Elegy, The Swallow, and The Devil of All Time actress Haley Bennett will play a pivotal character to Cate Blanchett’s character Lilith in Eli Roth’s Borderlands movie. Chernobyl writer Craig Mazin wrote the most recent draft, and the plot goes as the following. Set in the distant future as four “Vault Hunters” travel to the distant planet of Pandora to track down an alien vault that is rumored to hold sophisticated alien technology.

Bennett joins an A-list cast that includes Ariana Greenblatt as Tiny Tina, Florian Munteanu as Krieg, Jamie Lee Curtis as Dr. Tannis, Kevin Hart as Roland, and Jack Black as Claptrap. It is an action role-playing first-person shooter video game that was created by Gearbox Software and published by 2K Games for various platforms. Borderlands was first released in 2009, and the latest Borderlands 3 was released in 2019.

Bennett’s latest movie will be in Joe Wright’s Cyrano as Rozanne opposite Peter Dinklage who will play Cyrano about Cyrano de Bergerac’s life, which is a play written by Edmond Rostand in 1897 based on the actual person Cyrano de Bergerac. The film is expected to be released in 2022.
