Happy Gilmore 2, Adam Sandler’s follow-up to his 1996 sports comedy, will sport several pro golfers in its roster, according to Collider. Set for release 29 years after the first film, which followed an aspiring but short-tempered, hockey player with an amazing swing, who decides to play professional golf to save his grandmother’s house from foreclosure, the sequel appears to follow the titular character as he faces off against the villain, Shooter McGavin, from the original once again.

Along with returning actors such as Christopher McDonald as Shooter, Modern Family’s Julie Bowen as Happy’s love interest Virginia Venit, and Ben Stiller as Hal L, the sadistic nurse at the nursing home Happy’s grandmother is placed in, Happy Gilmore 2 will also feature a list of cameos from PGA pros such as Rory McIlroy, Scottie Scheffler, Bryson DeChambeau, Brooks Koepka, Justin Thomas and Will Zalatoris. Other new additions to the cast include football player Travis Kelce and Benito Antonio Martinez Ocasio, aka rapper Bad Bunny.

A mini behind-the-scenes featurette showing the cast members interacting with the athletes was released by Netflix earlier this week.

While the sequel does not have a scheduled release date, as of this writing, the original Happy Gilmore is currently available for streaming on AMC+.
