‘Halloween Kills’ Writer Offers Eager Fans New Plot Details

While Halloween Kills, the anticipated sequel to Blumhouse’ reboot/sequel of the classic horror franchise, has been delayed a full year as a result of the coronavirus pandemic, that didn’t stop the film’s creators from giving fans a little more information on the project as they wait.

As many of you might recall, Halloween Kills is the second film in Blumhouse’s new Halloween trilogy with the franchise set to, hypothetically, end again with Halloween Ends.  In an interview alongside director David Gorgon Green, writer Danny McBride elaborated that the film “takes place the same night, picking up where the last movie ended… Events in the film bring together a lot of characters who were in the 1978 film who we didn’t see last time. They gather to try, once and for all, to take down Michael, to stop this madman.” This was alluded to in the teaser for the film, showing the characters after they drove off after leaving Myers burning in the house, seeing firetrucks headed to the area and pleading to, “let him burn!”

This is not the first sequel to a Halloween film to pick up moments after its predecessor with Halloween II taking place on the same night of the original Halloween.

Halloween Kills is currently scheduled for release on October 15, 2021.
