Good Deed Entertainment Gets ‘Permission’

According to Deadline, Good Deed Entertainment has acquired U.S. distribution rights to Permission, a romantic comedy-drama starring Dan Stevens (Beauty and the Beast) and Rebecca Hall (The BFG). Brian Crano (A Bag of Hammers) helms from his own screenplay. Gina Gershon (Lost Cat Corona), Francois Arnaud (The Borgias), Morgan Spector (The Drop), David Joseph Craig (The Gift) and Jason Sudeikis (Colossal) also star.

The story centers on happy couple Anna (Hall) and Will (Stevens) who are discussing getting married and are poised to move in to a new Brooklyn brownstone. When it is pointed out to Anna that she has never dated anyone other than Will, the relationship dynamic begins to shift, affecting the couple’s future.

Hall, Margot Hand, Giri Tharan and Joshua Thurston are producing. Executive producers are Crano, Erika Hampson, David Gendron, and Michael Klein.

Good Deed Entertainment CEO Scott Donley said, “Permission provides one of the most refreshingly honest portrayals of adult relationships that we’ve seen in quite some time. We are pleased to add the film to our lineup for 2018. Brian has done a fantastic job, and the cast has delivered brilliantly.”

Permission will be released in 2018.
