GameStop Documentary in the Works With Director Chris Temple and Zach Ingrasci at XTR and Optimist

First, a book proposal, The Antisocial Network, then came news of a feature film possibly from Netflix. Now, GameStop is getting the documentary treatment with the company XTR, a non-fiction and television studio, and Optimist, a documentary production company.

Christ Temple and Zach Ingrasci, behind the company Optimist, will direct the documentary. They directed films like Five Years North and HBO’s The Undocumented Lawyer. Making this documentary happen was with a Kickstarter fundraiser, and they have already started interviewing people.

“This story is still evolving daily,” Temple said. “It’s so important to have a strong, nuanced documentary that can capture this landmark moment as it unfolds, through the perspective of the key people and forces that are shaping it.”

“The Robinhood GameStop saga is shaping up to be one of the most exciting stories of the year with far reaching consequences about the future of the financial markets and America’s distaste for the standard institutional investors,” said XTR’s head of development, Justin Lacob. “Similar to Fyre Festival, America is infatuated with these events, and we’re excited to give audiences the full picture, especially as it continues to unfold.”

All three projects on GameStop are being developed separately, so each project will come out at different times.
