Gael Garcia Bernal Weighs In On How His View Of Death Changed After Working On ‘Another End’

Another End, a brand new sci-fi picture, recently made its circuit at the Berlin Film Festival. With the premise of the movie inciting heavy questions, the main actor, Gael Garcia Bernal, has shared how some of his own thoughts about life and the body have evolved thanks to his work on the film.

Another End, directed by Piero Messina, follows a man lost in the grief of losing his wife. The man is presented with a hail mary, however, the possibility of implanting the memories of one who has passed into the body of another.

As stated, Gael Garcia Bernal, who has also appeared in Old and Werewolf By Night, headlines the film, bringing the script to life.

When asked if the script had a meaningful impact on him, he said, “Yes. It’s funny, normally I would lie and say yes, without really meaning it. But in this case, I really mean it,” he continued, saying, “in Western culture, we normally think that the body is not the person, the body is a disposable vessel in a way,” The Hollywood Reporter stated.

The actor also went on to comment on how the body and one’s actual life have been separated, but the film has made him question if the body and life were more connected than he originally thought, saying the film “changed me in many ways.”
