Gael García Bernal is the latest addition to the cast of M. Night Shyamalan’s latest thriller from Universal Studios. While most details about the film have been kept under wraps, we know that Bernal is joining an all-star cast including Eliza Scanlen, Aaron Pierre, Thomasin McKenzie, Alex Wolff, Vicky Krieps, Abbey Lee, Nikki Amuka-Bird, and Ken Leung.
Like the majority of his films, Shyamalan will both write and direct the feature. As of now, there have been no more details released about the actual plot of the film other than the feature is a thriller like Shyamalan’s other work. Shyamalan is notorious for keeping his projects a secret until the public can see them.
More recently, Shyamalan’s films have become increasingly interconnected, with 2019’s Glass including characters from Split and The Sixth Sense, so fans are already speculating that this film could be connected to his previous work and fit into the same cinematic universe.
In addition to writing and directing, Shyamalan will also produce the film alongside Ashwin Rajan and Marc Bienstock. Steven Schneider will serve as an executive producer.
The film has been slated for a July 23, 2021 release date, but with COVID-19, it is unknown if the release date will change.
