First Trailer for ‘Skin Trade’ Starring Dolph Lundgren and Tony Jaa

Is March now Martial Arts Film Fan Appreciation Month? Because martial arts film fans have a lot to be happy about. The Raid 2 comes to theaters, today actually; it was recently announced that Donnie Yen will be in another Ip Man movie; there will probably be some martial arts in the new Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles movie. And now this: a trailer for an action film starring Dolph Lundgren and Tony Jaa.

Most film goers will recognize Lundgren for his role as the villainous Russian boxer Ivan Drago in Rocky IV. Action connoisseurs will also know Lundgren for his multitude of action films in the eighties and nineties, including Masters of the Universe, The Punisher, Showdown in Little Tokyo, and Universal Soldiernot to mention his role in both of the Expendables films along side other stars of that genre and era. Jaa, as we’ve mentioned before, is a martial arts star from Thailand whose most notable work to western audiences are probably Ong Bak and The Protector.

Skin Trade is being helmed by Thai director Ekachai Uekrongtham. Interestingly, Uekrongtham’s filmography is mostly made up of serious drama films, but his biopic of transsexual boxer Nong Thoom, Beautiful Boxer shows he at least has some passion for fighting.

What’s Skin Trade actually about? The trailer’s not telling. Instead it (wisely) focuses on what the audience wants: Dolph Lundgren and Tony Jaa beating the crap out of each other. And yes, Lundgren will have a rocket launcher.

Oh, and Ron Perlman is also there.

Enjoy.
