As stated by The Hollywood Reporter, an official trailer for The Love Hypothesis has been released. The trailer shows back-to-back sequences regarding the plot of protagonist Olive kissing Dr. Adam Carlson and explaining to her friend Anh that she’s fake dating him. A horrified Olive apologizes to Dr. Carlson. Carlson even suggests kissing Olive on the porch to convince her friends of their supposed relationship. The film follows STEM Student Olive Smith, who returns to graduate school to study how the brain falls in love. When her best friend Ahmed develops feelings for Olive’s crush Jeremy, Olive takes action to kiss and persuade Dr. Carlson into a fake-dating relationship to prove she has moved on.
The film stars Lili Reinhart (Riverdale, Look Both Ways), Tom Bateman (Death on the Nile, Murder on the Orient Express), Arty Froushan (Carnival Row, Daredevil: Born Again), Rachel Mash (Fallout, The Morning Show), Nicholas Duvernay (Purple Hearts, Reminders of Him) and Jaboukie Young-White (Dating and New York, Someone Great). The film will be released on Prime Video, as the streamer was the one who released the trailer. Claire Scanlon (Set It Up, The People We Hate at the Wedding) directs. The film is an adaptation of the rom-com novel with the same title. Sarah Rothschild (The Sleepover, Rocking the Boat) writes the screenplay. Elizabeth Cantillon (Concussion, Charlie’s Angels) produces.
