Transporting somebody with sensitive information can turn complicated in an instant. The new action/thriller titled Mile 22 brings Mark Wahlberg and Peter Berg back together for the fourth time. Their previous collaborations include Lone Survivor, Deepwater Horizon and Patriot’s Day. Their new project tells the story of a group of intelligence officers who are called “Overwatch,” an organization that doesn’t exist in the eyes of the government. Their job is to escort people with pertinent information to safety, no matter the cost.
That’s the basis for Mile 22, which stars Mark Wahlberg (Patriot’s Day), Iko Uwais (The Raid: Redemption), John Malkovich (Deepwater Horizon) and Ronda Rousey (Furious 7). The film is written by newcomer Lea Carpenter and Graham Roland (Tom Clancy’s Jack Ryan). It has been said that this will be the first in a trilogy of films. Peter Berg will be directing and STX Films will be distributing the film.
