First Look at French Director Yann Demange’s Latest FBI Film, ‘White Boy Rick’: Trailer

After making his directorial debut for the 2014 historical thriller, 71 (starring Jack O’Connell), French director Yann Demange is turning to the FBI in a based-on-a-true-story drama, titled White Boy Rick.

Said to take place in the 1980s, the film follows the story of the youngest FBI informant in history, who is only 14 years old. Played by newcomer Richie Merritt, its about the events leading up to Richard Wershe Jr’s life sentence in prison after being arrested for drug trafficking.

Matthew McConaughey will also be co-starring as Wershe Jr’s, father as blue collar worker struggling to provide for his family and Jennifer Jason Leigh is playing one of the FBI agents responsible for recruiting the teenager.

Columbia Pictures’ White Boy Rick is set to be released in theaters September 14, 2018, but first check out the latest trailer below.
