The release of Zack Snyder’s (300) Batman v. Superman: Dawn of Justice is one year away, and so far the only teasers Snyder and DC have revealed have been singular images – Henry Cavill as Superman, Ben Affleck as Batman, another of Gal Gadot as Wonder Woman, and the last of Jason Momoa as the darkly powerful Aquaman. The latest tease comes in the form of Jessie Eisenberg (The Social Network) as Superman’s sometimes nemesis Lex Luthor – surprise piece of casting that has had fans buzzing for quite a while now. Today Entertainment Weekly released the photo below of Eisenberg as Luthor.
The image sees Luthor in a TIME magazine-like mugshot, continuing the motif of gritty realism prevalent through the previous character photos.
He’s not any of the Lexes that you’ve seen, that’s for sure,” Snyder commented. “Our Lex is disarming and he’s not fake. He says what he believes and he says what’s on his mind. If you can unravel the string and decipher what he means, it’s all there.
