Fire! Fire! Fire! ‘Backdraft’ Roars Back into Theaters for its 30th Anniversary

There’s nothing quite like seeing a fire burn completely out of control. It almost takes your breath away while witnessing the fury of Mother Nature. It’s dangerous, thrilling and even a bit scary. Backdraft is celebrating its 30th anniversary and will be back in theaters for a special two-day event starting on September 5 and September 8.

Ron Howard’s exciting action thriller stars Kurt Russel and William Baldwin as brothers who despite their differences must work together in their fire station while an arsonist is on the loose! The movie is best known for its impressive fire sequences that feels almost too real.

Fathom Events is bringing this classic ‘90s action movie back to theaters and tickets are available now to purchase.

The film also stars Robert De Niro as a fire investigator while Donald Sutherland portrays a creepy arsonist who may have insights on who this mysterious arsonist is. Backdraft was critically acclaimed and was a box office success even if most firefighters agreed that the movie itself was largely fictional in relation those impressive fire sequences. First of all, most fires inside a building have huge amounts of smoke making visibility minimal and firefighters are required to wear self-contained breathing apparatuses or SCBA, something the characters in the movie seldom wear.

Nevertheless, Backdraft is a terrific popcorn action thriller that enthralled audiences and is back on the big screen. Grab your tickets before they are gone!

Rick Rice: A kid at heart who has loved watching movies from a very young age. Credit must be given to Siskel and Ebert whose film reviews educated me on the world of film inspired me to become a writer myself. I love to read books that range from various topics, copious amounts of research is something that excites me and of course sitting in a movie theater is a highlight of my life. When I'm not watching movies or reading I enjoy listening to foreign music and working hard on finishing my short stories. Currently working on my degree in English with a plan to enroll into Film School with the dream of becoming a screenwriter and director.
