Felicity Jones Tied to ‘Swan Lake’ Film Adaptation

Felicity Jones appears to be connected to the main role in pitch that is inspired by Tchaikovsky’s 1875 ballet Swan Lake, according to The Hollywood Reporter. Jones most recently starred as Jyn Erso in Star Wars spin-off Rogue Oneand has appeared in variety of films including A Monster Calls and The Theory of Everything, the latter of which earned her an Oscar nomination.

Swan Lake tells the story of a young woman named Odette, who has been turned into a swan by an evil sorcerer and asks a Prince by the name of Siegfried to save her. The film will use the story of the ballet, but will not feature any ballet dancing.

Luca Guadagnino has taken the reins for the film, serving as the director. Guadagnino’s most recent film, Call Me By Your Namereceived critical praise at the Sundance Film Festival and has been purchased by Sony Classic Pictures for distribution, while his other films have received moderate reviews, including A Bigger Splash and I Am Love. Kristina Lauren Anderson has also joined the staff as the writer for the currently untitled film.

A variety of studios are currently in the mix for purchasing the film, including Universal and Paramount, and we hope to see more about the film in the coming months.
