‘Fast and the Furious’ Director Rob Cohen Accused of Sexual Assault by Asia Argento

Italian filmmaker and actress Asia Argento has come forth with accusations against The Fast and the Furious and xXx director, Rob Cohen, alleging that he sexually assaulted her while filming. She confirmed the allegations to Variety after making them first in the Italian newspaper ‘Il Corriere della Sera’ and other Italian media outlets.

“It’s the first time I’m talking about Cohen,” she said. “He abused me, making me drink GHB, he had a bottle of it. At the time, I really didn’t know what it was. I woke up in the morning naked in his bed.” GHB is a drug used in incidents of date rape

According to Argento, the incident occurred in 2002 while filming xXx, which she starred in opposite Vin Diesel and Samuel L. Jackson. Cohen has been accused of sexual assault allegations before. In 2019, his 32-year-old daughter Valkyrie Weather claimed that the director molested her at the age of two, and he allegedly assaulted an actress after meeting in New York to discuss a pilot that was never made. Cohen’s reps denied those allegations.

Argento was one of the many who accused Harvey Weinstein of sexual assault in 2017, making her a figurehead of the #MeToo movement. She was also accused of sexual assault by Jimmy Bennet, who co-starred with her in the film The Heart is Deceitful Above All Things. Argento’s attorney denied the assault but admitted the sexual encounter.
