Everything You Need To Know About the 2024 BAFTA Film Awards

The BAFTA Film Awards festivities are in full swing in London, marking the commencement of a weekend filled with celebrations. They all lead up to the prestigious awards ceremony on Sunday night, followed by a series of glamorous afterparties extending into the early hours of Monday morning.

The awards ceremony is scheduled to commence at 5 pm local time on Sunday at the Southbank Centre’s Royal Festival Hall. Hosted by David Tennant, the event will be broadcast on BBC One and BBC iPlayer with a two-hour delay, while Britbox will air the awards in the U.S. Unlike last year, the final four categories will not be broadcast live.

This year’s schedule avoids significant overlaps with other major events like the Critics Choice Awards and the Directors Guild of America, ensuring a focused spotlight on BAFTA nominees and winners.

The weekend’s festivities kick off with AppleTV+ hosting a brunch, followed by an exclusive pub crawl starting with the Academy of Motion Picture Arts & Sciences reception at the Dorchester Hotel. The evening continues with BAFTA’s nominees event at The National Gallery and Charles Finch’s annual dinner at 5 Hertford Street.

On Sunday, post-ceremony events include a dinner at the Royal Festival Hall and various studio and streamer-hosted parties across London. Universal and Focus will celebrate at the NoMad hotel, while Searchlight will be at Soho House. Warner Bros will host a cocktail event at Kettner’s, and Netflix will take over the Chiltern Firehouse.

These gatherings provide an opportunity for nominees, industry insiders, and film enthusiasts to celebrate and mingle, highlighting the vibrancy and diversity of the film industry.
