Emma Thompson is Fiona Mae in Trailer for ‘The Children Act’

It’s a tough choice to decide when to intervene when it comes to saving a human life, and it’s even more tricky when that life belongs to a child.

A24 is bringing the next  drama to the big screen in film starring Emma Thompson in what is being called ‘one of her most moving performances of her career. She is playing high court judge Fiona Mae, who must decide if she should step in when a teenager refuses to have a blood transfusion done to save his own life.

Also starring in this drama is Stanley Tucci and Fionn Whitehead as the teenage boy, Adam.

Directed by Richard Eyre from the screenplay by author Ian McEwan, The Children Act is set to be released in theaters September 14.
