Emma Stone, Kate McKinnon, and Jillian Bell will be ‘Women in Business’

Emma Stone is looking to step back into her comedy shoes alongside SNL‘s Kate McKinnon and rising comedic actress Jillian Bell (22 Jump Street) for Women in Business, according to The Hollywood Reporter. Fox has acquired distribution rights to the film based on the spec script by Laura Steinel and to be directed by Jake Szymanski (helmer of the upcoming Mike and Dave Need Wedding Dates).

The story will center around two competitive colleagues on a business trip to Canada. While there, they pick up an intern off of Craigslist which leads to upheaval on their trip.

Fox already has a working relationship with the screenwriter, Steinel, as they have recently picked up her workplace comedy HR for their next television season – it will star Judy Greer (The Descendants) and Patton Oswalt (TV’s Agents of Shield). Aside from Mike and Dave Need Wedding Dates (starring Zac Efron and Anna Kendrick), Szymanski also directed the Andy Samberg-Kit Harrington TV Movie 7 Days in Hell.

Stone last appeared in Woody Allen’s Irrational Man and will next be seen once again co-starring with Ryan Gosling in Damien Chazelle‘s (Whiplash) musical dramedy La La LandShe has also recently begun production on Battle of the Sexes with her Crazy Stupid Love co-star Steve Carell. McKinnon will continue to appear on Saturday Night Live for which she has earned two Emmy nominations. She has recently lent her voice to the animated Finding Dory and will soon be seen in the female Ghostbusters reboot. Bell, while continuing her recurring role on TV’s Workaholics, will be heard in the upcoming Angry Birds Movie, and will appear alongside McKinnon in Office Christmas Party, another female-driven comedy featuring Jennifer Aniston and Olivia Munn.

With three proven hilarious female leads, Women in Business will likely be getting a lot of buzz soon once filming commences. We will have more on the film as it is released.
