Emilia Clarke to Star In Remake of Korean Film ‘The Beauty Inside’

It was reported on Saturday that Fox 2000 has won the bid for The Beauty Inside with Game of Thrones actress Emilia Clarke attached, for $2 million up against offers from Universal, Sony, STX, Lionsgate and New Line Cinema. Given it was only a pitch, the $2 million price tag seems a bit exorbitant, but the story idea already has a track record of being a hit among audiences worldwide.

The film will be a romantic comedy about a man who wakes up in a different body each day, but when he finds the woman he knows he can love, he must learn how to remain connected with her, as she never will see him in his current form again.

The script will be written by screenwriting team Scott Neustadter and Michael H. Weber, who are responsible for 500 Days of Summer, as well as adapting The Spectacular Now, The Fault in Our Stars and Paper Towns for the screen.

As said before, this is not the first time The Beauty Inside has been made. A miniseries was first made in 2012, which was directed by Drake Doremus and sponsored by Toshiba and Intel. It was a ‘social’ film in that audience members had a direct ability to effect the story through social media, and social media had a strong presence in the storyline. Then in 2015, The Beauty Inside became a Korean romantic comedy.  In the Korean version there are 123 versions of the main character. This new film is said to be a remake of the Korean film, as it more closely will follow its format. The trailer for the Korean film can be seen below.

Besides The Beauty Inside, Emilia Clarke also has a few more projects coming up, including WWII drama The Woman with Red Hair, historical drama The Guns of August, and the untitled Hans Solo film. This year, look for Clarke in the crime/thriller Above Suspicion, as well as period drama Voice from the Stone.
