Since its release, Dragon Ball Super: Broly has been a global success. The movie is the 20th film in Akira Toriyama’s Dragon Ball series, directed by Tatsuya Nagamine, and is by far, the most successful movie in the franchise. The movie was dubbed into English by Funimation and features Sean Schemmel as Goku, Chris Sabat as Vegeta, Chris Ayers as Frieza, and Vic Mignogna as Broly.
Despite a limited release in the United States, the movie earned at least 7 million dollars on its first day, according to Variety. That’s not to say that the movie has not done well in its home country because Dragon Ball: Super Broly topped the Japanese box office during its opening weekend.
However, it has been really successful in the Latin American market. Dragon Ball Super: Broly is already the biggest Japanese movie in Brazil. In Bolivia, it had the best premiere out of every animated film or movie produced by Fox. In Paraguay, Uruguay, and Argentina, Dragon Ball Super: Broly was the number one movie in the box office. In Mexico, where the final episode of Dragon Ball Super was screened in public, it earned over 6 million dollars during its debut. In Peru, it had the second greatest premiere, surpassing Star Wars and Fast & Furious—only beaten by Avengers: Infinity War. It is obvious the Dragon Ball series connected with people all over the world.
