Warner Bros has released an official trailer for their Don Cheadle led crime-thriller No Sudden Move. The movie, directed by Steven Soderbergh, boasts an all-star cast including Cheadle, Benicio Del Toro, David Harbour, Julia Fox, Brendan Fraser, Jon Hamm, and many more.
The film follows, according to the Warner Bros YouTube account, “a group of small-time criminals,” in 1955 Detroit, that “are hired to steal emerging car technology. When their plan goes horribly wrong, their search for who hired them – and for what ultimate purpose – weaves them through all echelons of the race-torn, rapidly changing city.”
No Sudden Move looks to be full of all the twists, turns, and thrills that Soderbergh’s recent films have had. Including Unsane, Logan Lucky, and the less than successful The Laundromat. Soderbergh is also reuniting with Don Cheadle and Benicio Del Toro, both of whom worked with the director in the 2000 film Traffic, which garnered both Del Toro and Soderbergh an Oscar for acting and directing, respectively. The film itself took home four Academy Awards.
This latest Soderbergh film looks exciting and could bring a lot back to the thriller-heist-crime genre that comes and goes throughout the years. The talent involved is worth a look at the trailer, aside from those mentioned prior, Kieran Culkin, Amy Seimetz, and Ray Liotta are also set to suit up for the 1950’s film.
No Sudden Move is set for a July 1, 2021 release on HBO Max.
