Disney is giving fans a preview of what’s in store for this year’s D23: The Ultimate Disney Fan Event, and the lineup is packed from start to finish. The company has announced a full slate of programming for the three-day event, which will be held August 14-16 in Anaheim, California. From exclusive movie announcements to live performances and celebrity panels, Disney is promising one of its biggest fan celebrations yet.
The weekend begins with the Disney Entertainment Showcase on Friday, where attendees can expect surprise guests, exclusive footage, and updates on upcoming films, television series, games, and stage productions. On Saturday, Neil Patrick Harris will return to host the Horizons: Disney Experiences Showcase, offering a closer look at new attractions and experiences coming to Disney parks around the world. The event will close on Sunday with the Disney Legends Awards Ceremony, hosted by Ryan Seacrest, honoring this year’s class of Disney Legends, including Anne Hathaway, Dwayne Johnson, Bob Iger, Lin-Manuel Miranda, the Jonas Brothers, and more.
Beyond the major presentations, Disney has planned dozens of panels and special events throughout the weekend. Fans will be able to attend conversations celebrating milestones for Beauty and the Beast, Alice in Wonderland, Kingdom Hearts, and Spider-Man, along with presentations featuring Percy Jackson and the Olympians, Bluey, Camp Rock 3, The Simpsons, Bob’s Burgers, and Scrubs. There will also be concerts, costume contests, live podcast recordings, behind-the-scenes discussions, and sneak peeks at upcoming Disney projects.
Disney also shared that reservations for select panels and experiences will open on July 20, with confirmed reservations being sent out beginning August 7. Even without a reservation, many events will offer standby access.
