Danny Boyle’s Newest Film, ‘Ink’, To Premiere At The Venice Film Festival

It has been officially announced that Ink, the newest film from Danny Boyle, will be premiering in competition at this year’s Venice Film Festival. The film is the newest film from the Oscar-winning director behind Slumdog Millionaire, Trainspotting, 28 Days Later, and 28 Years LaterInk is a true-story drama that follows Robert Murdoch’s acquisitions and the transformation of The Sun newspaper. Guy Pierce plays Murdoch, while Jack O’Connell, who previously worked with Boyle on 28 Years Later, plays Larry Lamb, the editor of The Sun. The film is written by multi-Olivier award-winning playwright and screenwriter James Graham. Production studios on the film include Studiocanal, Media Res, and House Productions.

Boyle produced the film alongside Tessa Ross, Michael Ellenberg, and Tracey Seaward. Through Studiocanal, Anna Marsh, Ron Halpern, and Joe Naftalin produce, while Zoe Edwards and Sudie Smyth executive produce. The film contains many of Boyle’s frequent collaborators working behind the camera. Alwin H. Küchler, who previously worked with Boyle on 2015’s Steve Jobs, acts as Director of Photography. Gareth Pugh and Carson McColl, who served as the production and costume designers on 28 Years Later, act in the same roles for this film. Daniel Pemberton, who composed the score for Steve Jobs, is composing the score for this film.

The film will have its world premiere at the Venice Film Festival, where it will be searching for North American distribution.
