Daniel Radcliffe Shows His Devious Side in Newly Released Trailer for ‘Horns’

Watch Daniel Radcliffe raise all hell in the trailer for the whimsically sinister new thriller, Horns. Appropriately, the film will be released on Halloween day of this year.

Based off of the bestselling novel by Joe Hill, the film follows Ig Perrish in the wake of the murder of his girlfriend. Upon the suspicious appearance of horns on his head, he becomes the main suspect of the crime and the target of guilt and shame from those around him. It seems that the apple doesn’t fall far from the tree, as Hill is the son of legendary horror icon Stephen King.

Radcliffe plays the lead, and will be sporting an American accent for the first time since his 2013 biopic Kill Your Darlings. He will also be starring in the film Brooklyn Bridge, which is currently in pre-production. In addition, Juno Temple (Sin City: A Dame to Kill For), Max Minghella (The Internship), Kelli Garner (Lars and the Real Girl), Joe Anderson (Across the Universe), David Morse (Disturbia), Heather Graham (The Hangover), Kathleen Quinlan (The Hills Have Eyes), and James Remar (The Hateful Eight) are also cast in the film. The film premiered at last year’s Toronto Film Festival, and Dimension and Radius-TWC acquired distribution rights. Alexandre Aja, writer of psychological horrors like High Tension and Maniac, directed the film, while Keith Bunin (In Treatment) adapted a screenplay from Hill’s novel.

From what’s seen in the trailer, one could expect a part-murder mystery thriller, part-dark comedy, part-fantasy film riddled with tongue-in-cheek Satanic references. It certainly seems to defy genre convention in a way that has yet to be experienced. The prospect of watching Radcliffe ditch his Harry Potter halo for a pair of horns should be enough to bring audiences flocking to theaters this Halloween.
