Daniel Radcliffe Shines as Weird Al Yankovic in Biopic Trailer

Daniel Radcliffe is the fuzzy-curly-haired, mustachioed persona of parody artist “Weird Al” Yankovic in the new teaser trailer for the Roku original film Weird: The Al Yankovic Story produced by Funny Or Die and Tango. Yankovic collaborated on the script with Eric Appel, who is also directing the film. This fall, the film will be available to stream for free on the Roku channel.

The film is described as an “untold true story” of Yankovic’s journey to popularity with early hits like “Like a Surgeon” and “Eat It,” even touching on his torrid celebrity love affairs and famously depraved lifestyle. The teaser trailer ends with Radcliffe as Yankovic saying dramatically, “Anyone got an accordion?” before it cuts to a scene with a mysteriously looking Madonna entering his house and him saying, “What can I say? I’m full of surprises.”

In addition to Evan Rachel Wood playing Madonna, Rainn Wilson will play radio presenter Dr. Demento. Julianne Nicholson and Toby Huss will portray Yankovic’s parents, Mary and Nick, in the biopic. There is no release date set for the film.
