After a prolonged uphill battle, Coyote Vs. Acme is drawing closer and closer to an official release. Not only does it have an official release date now, but new footage was also shown at San Diego Comic Con.

After his continuous failed attempts at catching the pesky Road Runner, Wile E. Coyote sets his sights on a new target: Acme. With countless of their products backfiring on him, and constantly not working as they’re supposed to, he takes them to court in hopes of getting some sort of compensation for it.

Coyote Vs. Acme has been popping up in a multitude of headlines since 2023, thanks to Warner Bros. trying to shelf the project for a tax break. Between petitioning fans wanting the film to see the light of day, and Ketchup Entertainment picking up The Day The Earth Blew Up, another Looney Tunes film that had a successful release, Coyote Vs. Acme got a proper fighting chance. It was picked up by Ketchup, and is now set for an August release next year.

The cast and crew discussing the film at SDCC were in high spirits, as Deadline reports. Many were cracking jokes before and after a trailer was shown off, even with Paul Scheer, the panel moderator, saluting “Mr. Ketchup” for getting the film to audiences and fans.

Screenrant noted that they showed off a full six minutes of footage, among other snippets. Those in attendance at Hall H got to see Wile’s lawyer, played by Will Forte, go toe-to-toe with Acme’s lawyer, played by John Cena. From the description, Cena’s character was able to completely upstage Forte’s in the courtroom. Not all hope is lost, however, as Forte’s character gets an anonymous phone call with evidence against Acme, with the caller greeting him with “what’s up, doc?”
