With more and films films being delayed and halted due to the might of the COVID-19 outbreak, it’s clear that even recent movie releases will see a significant overhaul. Now Pixar’s Onward has become the latest casualt,y as Disney announced that they would be pulling the film from theaters and making it available on-demand and via streaming services according to Comicbook.com.
With the pandemic preventing people from going to the theater, Disney confirmed that Onward would be available for purchase on-demand starting March 20th and be accessible on Disney+ on April 3rd. The home release of Onward will allow viewers the option of owning or renting the film. Other films like Invisible Man and The Hunt will also receive the same treatment for the same price as Onward. The retail cost for these films will be $19.99 and can be found on streaming services such as Amazon, iTunes, VUDU, and FandangoNOW.
With Dan Scanlon as its director, Onward features Chris Pratt and Tom Holland as a pair of elf siblings who embark on a grand adventure to discover source of mystic energy in efforts to revive their deceased father over the span of 24 hours. Onward also features Julia Louis-Dreyfus and Octavia Spencer in supporting roles.
