‘CODA’ Wins All 3 Oscar Nominations, Including Best Picture

Tonight, Sian Heder’s indie film CODA surprised us all, winning Best Picture, Best Adapted Screenplay, and Best Supporting Actor.

Earlier, Troy Kostur gave a moving speech for his win. He went down in history as the second deaf actor to win an Oscar. The cast surrounded the stage after the last winner was announced and expressed gratitude to have the opportunity to make a movie about the deaf community and have it recognized by the Academy. This is an inclusive step to take for the organization and the film industry, as CODA’s cast is made up of a mostly deaf cast and won all their nominations tonight.

Thanks for tuning into the 94th Academy Awards!
