The film is also nominated for Best Picture at the 2022 Oscars. This win at PGA makes the film winning Best Picture seem much more likely because both PGA and the Oscars share the same voting system. The PGA winner has often correlated with the Best Picture winner. The film that won PGA has gone on to win Best Picture at the Oscars 22 times out of the last 32 years. While it is not guaranteed that CODA will win best picture, the PGA win means that there is a substantial chance that it may. CODA is a film about a “child of deaf adults” which is what CODA stands for. The film follows stars Emilia Jones, who is known for the role of Orla in Horrible Histories: The Movie – Rotten Romans. Jones plays the role of Ruby Rossi, who is the only person in her family who is not deaf. Ruby helps out on her families fishing boat as regulations state that there must be at least one person who can hear on the ship. The Best Picture award will be announced on Sunday, March 27th, 2022 at the Oscars.
